I forgot to tell you that Sarah walked to the mailbox and back home all by herself! This involved crossing many (quiet) streets! I trailed her progress at a distance but I could have stayed home because she clearly didn’t need me.
I forgot to tell you that Amy and I volunteered at the Pittsburgh foodbank with her new school classmates and their families. We bagged apples for two hours, and really enjoyed the experience.
I maybe accidentally on purpose forgot to tell you that Amy is now a smidgy bit taller than I am.
I am remembering to tell you that Amy had her first paying job! She and her bestie scooped ice cream for the National Night Out party that was hosted by our neighbors.
I am pleased to tell you that we have a working refrigerator again! The first time the delivery truck arrived, we discovered to our dismay that one fridge door was shattered and bashed to an unusable state, but luckily the store had a floor model of the same fridge that they brought us instead.
I am thrilled to tell you that I had a table at the Indie Author Book Fair hosted by Literacy Nation, Inc. in Philadelphia yesterday. It was wonderful meeting other authors and talking with attendees. In other exciting news, my book received honorable mention in the memoir category in the New York Book Festival contest, and it won gold in the Living Now Book Awards in the family/parenting category!!
I am delighted to tell you that because I was away, the girls and Carl had a Dad Weekend. This always equals fun adventures. Yesterday they played a board game that they turned into a drinking game to help everyone hydrate with water. They went for a bike ride in the woods, and went to a small beach at a state park. At the beach, Sarah made a new friend connection! In Carl’s words, “Sarah was standing next to some little kids watching them play in the sand for a while and so the parent asked if she wanted a scoop and she did and then sat down and started playing side by side with a little girl. They interacted a little and when Amy went over to ask if Sarah wanted ice cream she said no because she wanted to keep playing. Then we did get ice cream. When we came back they were leaving and Sarah was a little disappointed. But the mom said that they would be back tomorrow. Sarah said that they were making a sand castle together.” Carl and the girls will return to the beach today and hopefully another sandcastle and more of a friend connection can be built.
May you remember anything of import that you have forgotten and may you have eager ears to listen to what you recall.

Jenny you are amazing. Sarah is amazing. The book was awesome, pure, insightful, educational. I am in awe.
FYI. I was a neighbor to your Mom and we were in the same class in late elementary school and high school. I am awe of her as well but not surprised by her devotion and support for you and your beautiful family. Of course you know you look like her and your Grandmother Mather.
Thanks for sharing the story of Watching Sarah Rise.
Thank you so much for all of this! If you could write a short review (it can just say that you loved it) and put that on Amazon, goodreads, and Barnes and Noble that would be wonderful and can help the book reach more people.
